Galen – <ART> A star system in OL / SL. Together with Strathmore's and Kenichi's, Galen's system delegation to the SL Assembly is "strongly inclined" to follow Beowulf's example and recommend withdrawal from SL to their system government.

Gamma - <MoH> The setteld planet in the Darius System. There are five space stations in orbit, one of them called Darius Prime.

Garches - <CoS> A dirt poor planet in the Ventane Sector of SL, originally settled by intellectuals. The major export crop are “half-baked nannies with delusions of grandeur”.

Gascogne – <CoG> A moon orbiting a gas giant in the proximity of Mendelschon. A strain of imported Earth's Indonesia coffe is grown there.

Gaston – <EoH, AAC> A star system in PRH, one of its early conquests. There is a settled planet in the system called Toulon. The total system infrastructure was destroyed during Cutworm I. The system was a money losing one under the Legislaturalists.

Genovese – <ART> A star system, sector capital in SL, ~210 LY from Sol.

Geronimo – <ToF> The homeworld of Captain Dirk-Seven Kamstra (SLN), the flag captain of the SLN force during the Battle of Torch.

Ghatotkacha (Epsilon Virgo II) – <ToF> The settled planet in the Epsilon Virgo System, one of its export comodities is jewlery.

Gilgamesh – <John Ringo – SotS> A planet where the semi-sentinent carnivore fish River Devils live. The "fish" are actually dual-breathing amphiblians, equiped with six eyes, 3 cm long teeth and "sucker tipped arms in palce of pectoral fins". They are also probably able to communicate among each other by changing the color of their skin.

Gorgon (Manticore B II) – <JRMN, HoS> The second planet orbiting Manticore B, O – 2,3 [See 1)]; G – 0,76. Gorgon has one moon.

Gorgon Belt - <WoH, JRMN, HoS> The outermost of Manticore B's three arteroid belts, O - 116,2 [See 2)]. Before Manticore B "caught" the gas giant Fenris the Gorgon Belt composed the original seventh planet, it was ripped apart by the new arrival setting itself into its new orbit.

Gosset – <HAE> A star system in the Breslau Sector of SC.

Grafton – <CoS> A star system in SL, the capital of the Grafton Sector.

Grayson (Yeltsin V) – <All -OBS, MtH, WoH, CoW, ABF, HTBu9, FS, TW, ACtD> The habitable planet in the Yeltsin's Star System, settled in 988 P.D. (3090 A.D.). O – 13,5; D ~ 0,98; the mass is "almost Earth standard; G – 1,17; YL – 1,86; DL – 26+ [See 3)]; AT is "minimal". The hydrosphere takes 63% of the surface. Excepting the weather, which "any resort planet might envy" with an average temperature on the warm side by Manticoren standards, the planetary environment is very hostile towards humans, including a very high concentration of heavy metals, in particular arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead. Due to extreme enviromental hazards on the surface over two-thirds of the planet's food prior to the treaty with SKM and the later establishing of Grayson Sky Domes was produced in special habitats in space, in essence orbital farms. This put an enormous strain on the economy and historically simply feeding Grayson's population took around 70% of the gross system product. The planetary population as of 1921 P.D. is "about" 3 billion with rougly a quater being male. This is due to an unintended genetic manipulation that was introduced when the first colonists tried to modify their genome in an attempt to adapt themselves to Grayson's hostile enviroment. Altough the original purpose was accomplished it also caused a fatal genetic mutation that caused 2/3 of male pregnancies to misscarry. This situation is changing, due to Grayson gaining acces to modern medical techonology when it joined MA. The imbalance in female / male births, coupled with the extreme enviromental hazards and the religious background of the colonists lead to the formation of a society in which women had no legal rights, barring them from voting, academic education, any form of military / police service or land ownership. This situation is slowly changeing under the reforms started by Protector Benjamin IX. The planet is divided into 82 Steadings, placed primarily inland to avoid the toxic oceans, de-facto independent nations, ruled by Steadholders, who in turn swear fealty to the Protector. Due to the enviromental constraints, and the resulting population control requirement during Graysons history, only about half of the available planetary surface is developed or organized into official steddings. The planetary capital is Austin City, which lies in northern hemisphere on the New Covenant continent. Stedading Mueller is located on the continent of Idaho along God's Tears, a lake chain of great beauty. The youngest of the steadings is Steading Harrington created in 1903 P.D. after the Second Battle of Yeltsin. It is located on the eastern shore of the Goshen continent, which is bordered by the Goshen Sea from the nortwest. Steading Harrington is also the site "of the first extra-Sphinxian colony of treecats" As of 1921 P.D there are 42 treecats on Grayson. It's worth notice that Grayson is the only colonised planet that retained the Gregorian callendar and Earth's 24-hour day despite the fact that both are totaly unsiuted to local conditions. Over 80 % of Graysons are members of the Church of Humanity Unchained.
History
Grayson was colonized by the Church of Humanity Unchained, an anti-technological Judeo-Christian congregation with Green and New Luddite elements mixed in. Gideon, the Church's single cyroship, arrived in Yeltsin’s Star System on October 24, 988 P.D. The system’s distant and isolated location, far beyond any other planned colonization efforts, had been a major factor in the colony planners’ selection of their destinatione. Early records from just prior to landing name the colony planet as “Zion”. Because of their religious favor, the colonists didn’t run a survey before landing and destroying their hibernation facilities, thus making any further journey impossible. This stranded them on a planet that, due to its heavy-metal-rich surface, would prove sufficiently hostile to even the most technologically advanced colony, far less one which had deliberately discarded technology. In the early days of the colony, heavy-metal poisoning caused horrific rates of miscarriage, with few pregnancies progressing to reach even a stillbirth. It was then that the attempt to modify the surviving colonists at the genetic level,to increase their heavy-metal poison tolerance, was undertaken in secret, with the blessing of the dying Reverend Grayson. The hostile environment forced a reevaluation of the Church's teology, which was to become the underlying cause for a later civil war.
By the end of the twelfth century, the life-or-death fight to survive on Grayson had stabilized in favor of survival, and by 1250 P.D., sufficient resources had become available that an attempt was made to reestablish the space presence which had lapsed in 1065 P.D. with the failure of the last of the original landing shuttles. In 1337 P.D., the Faithful, an extremist group within the Church, launched a coup d’état against the Conclave of Steadholders, triggering the Grayson Civil War. The war officially ended in 1351 P.D., although the Faithful did not leave Grayson for Endicott until 1362 P.D., when the starships necessary for the trip had been constructed. Including the Faithful who departed for Masada, Grayson had lost almost fifty-three percent of its pre-Civil War population in just twenty-eight years and damage to the planetary infrastructure, while not total, had been catastrophic. The Faithful never gave up their goals, which lead to a series of Grayson-Masada wars in 1672, 1736, 1749, and 1868 P.D. when Masada managed to launch planetary nuclear srtikes against Grayson. The active fighting stopped in 1875 P.D. when a protracted cold war period started.
In 1703 P.D. Grayson was rediscovered when the Havenite merchant ship Goliath contacted both Yeltsin’s Star and the Endicott System, reestablishing contact between the descendants of Austin Grayson’s colonists and the rest of humanity. Both systems' strategis value became important as the likelihood of a conflict between SKM and PRH increased. The tension reached maximum in 1903 P.D. when PRH tried to use Masadan proxies to take over both systems, this backfierd in part due to the religious fanaticism of the masadans, and the intervention of SKM. RMN conquered Endicott and occupied Masada thus ending the long conflict.

Greenbriar – <SftS> A star system which took part in the Greenbriar-Chanticleer War in 1843 P.D. It was their "dispute over officers' paroles" submited "for SL binding arbitration" that was used as a precedence in the interpretation of the parole given by Vice Admiral Michelle Henke when she was relased by RoH in SftS.

Gregor – <HAE, MtH, CoW, WarH, SotS, SoSag, JRMN, JHRN, ART, HoS> A binary star system "in the very heart" of AE. The primary component is Gregor A, StC – F9; HL – 22,44. There are no habitable planets in the Gregor A subsystem. There is a settled planet in the Gregor B subsystem. Gregor A belongs to SKM / SEM on the basis of a treaty signed with the former Gregor Republic. One of the termini of MWJ leads to Gregor A, the termini is 700 LM from the star. The treaty granting SEM the right to Gregor A was recognised by AE after it “acquired” Gregor B 40 T-Years before HAE. The treaty gives SEM the right to fortify the area around the terminus and maintain a fleet base in orbit around the star. The Gregor System is “roughly” 49 LY from New Berlin, and 180 LY from Manticore.

Grendelsbane – <SVW, FiE, HAE, EoH, WoH, AoV, WarH, SoSag, AAC, SftS, MoH, ART, HoS> A star system, MA member. There was a SKM yard & base in the system. The system was captured by RoH in WarH and the base excepting the living quarters was destroyed by the retreating RMN forces. Grendelsbane in over 120 LY from Trevor's Star.

Gryphon (Manticore B V [See 8)]) – <All -JHRN, HTBu9, GNLH, FS> The settled planet orbiting Manticore B in SKM / SEM. O – 11,4 [See 4)]; D – 1,04; G – 1,05 [See 5)]; YL – 1,69; DL – 22,71; AT – 27. The hydrosphere takes 51% of the surface. "Gryphon is a world of extremes. While the hydrosphere covers a relatively small percentage of its surface, its oceans are comparatively deep, providing the thermal reservoir that makes Gryphon habitable even with the combination of extreme axial tilt and large orbital radius." All this gives Gryphon a rugged "continental" climate with extremely cold winters and (relatively speaking) scorching summers. It is beacause of the extreme climate and small hydrosphere that the continental interiors are arid akin to Mars'. 200 kilometers inland the land is a desert for half of the local year only to be drenched during the fall rains, which are followed by a hard winter freeze. Gryphon is the most tectonically active of Manticore's three inhabited worlds. The planetary biosystem is also the least Earth-like of the Star Kingdom's habitable worlds. The planet was place to the only serious civil disturbance in SKM's history. The Gryphon Uprosing took place in 1721 P.D. and was caused by conflict over land possesion between the aristocracy and yeomen land owners. It ended when the Crown decided to intervine taking the side of the gentry. Gryphon is poor in metals (relative to Manticore A III or Sphinx), but "has trade-worthy concentrations of rare earth elements and fissionable materials," and the developed planet-side industry is mostly agrarian, the primary export comodities are Buffalo (gene-engenieered on Beowulf) meat and hides. "In addition the Gryphon Kodiak Maximus provides one of the galaxy's premiere peltries." Another important sector of planetary economy is the recreation industry concentraded mostly around Gryphon's mountains and skiing resorts. Despite that Gryphon actually has more total industry than Sphinx because of Manticore-B's extensive three asteroid belts. The small southern continent is called Wishbone. As of 1920 P.D., the planetary population was no more than 600,000,000 and the belter population is 300,000,000. In orbit around it among other industrial constructions, there was, until its destruction during operation Oyster Bay, Weyland a RMN space station. Gryphon has "one large moon Egg, which produces extreme tides in its deep, narrow oceans." Gryphon is home to the second, after Grayson extra-Sphinxian colony of treecats.

1) The table listing the planets of Manticore B in JRMN puts Gorgon's orbit at 2,56 LM, but the Manticore B system map in HoS gives 2,3 LM. I'm going with the one from HoS, as it's the newest and most canon material on Manticore B's astrography.

2) The table listing the planets of Manticore B in JRMN puts Gorgon Belt's orbit at 116,28 LM, but the Manticore B system map in HoS gives 116,2 LM. I'm going with the one from HoS, as it's the newest and most canon material on Manticore B's astrography.

3) Although HoS puts Grayson's DL at 24,24 hours I decided to stick with the 26+ number from FiE. The later one simply fits better, with all the instances in the books, when the Grayson practice of sticking to the Gregorian calendar and Earth 24 hour day is described as highly impracical because they don't fit the local ones. A 26+ hour day fits with this description better than a 24,21 one.

4) The glossary in ABF and TW gives the number 11,37 LM, the table listing the planets of Manticore B in JRMN 11,35 LM,and HoS 11,4 LM. I'm going with the one from HoS, as it's the newest and most canon material on Manticore B's astrography.

5) The glossary in ABF lists Gryphon's G as 1,19 of Earth's, But HotQ, JRMN and HoS list 1,05 so I'm sticking to that one.
